About The Position

The Host/Cashier seats guests in a timely manner, handles phone calls and cash and credit transactions, and assists servers by clearing and setting tables, taking and delivering beverages, and completing other tasks that support prompt, excellent guest service. The role also involves greeting and thanking guests, taking to-go orders, refilling beverages, clearing and wiping tables, and occasionally helping servers deliver food.

Requirements

• Six months of previous cashier experience; restaurant experience is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
• Must have high-school-level math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Must be able to learn server stations and seat guests equally among those stations.
• Must have basic knowledge of beverage brands, drink preparation, and applicable health standards.
• Must know appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Must be able to describe menu items, prices, and preparation methods.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand and maintain well-paced mobility for up to eight hours.
• Must be able to work in limited space and maneuver between simultaneous activities.
• Must be able to perform tasks involving grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
• Must have listening, hearing, and visual acuity, including near vision, color vision, and depth perception.
• Must have manual dexterity to use and operate necessary equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of previous bussing experience.
• Experience with a POS system.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Seat guests in a friendly and timely manner, distributing guests equally among server stations.
• Take to-go orders.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Thank guests as they leave.
• Ask guests for beverage orders and deliver beverages promptly.
• Clear empty dishes from tables as needed.
• Refill guests’ beverages as needed.
• Clear and wipe down tables after guests leave.
• Occasionally assist servers with food delivery.
