About The Position

The Hospitality Technician works as a Support Services Technician across multiple locations and departments, including Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Reception, Patient Transport, and Supply Chain. The role requires adaptability, versatility, communication, and collaboration to maintain continuity of service and foster a positive work environment. As part of the patient care team, the technician helps create a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment and contributes to a positive patient experience. This is a part-time evening position at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, scheduled for 16 hours per week from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with every other weekend required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience in customer service and/or other related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; patient transport certification preferred within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross; patient transport certification preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Handler certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Allergy Certificate from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Protection Manager (CFP) certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Refer to the job description for the role being performed and use its associated technology.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, visitors, and patients/residents to provide a high level of customer service and care.
• Help provide a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment that supports a positive patient experience.
• Greet, communicate with, and assist visitors, staff, and/or patients in navigating the hospital.
• Complete special projects as assigned, following specific direction.
