Full Time 1st and 2nd Shift - Hospital Trash Tech
About The Position
Xanitos, Inc. is hiring full-time Hospital Trash Techs at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role is responsible for removing trash and debris, sorting recyclable and compostable materials, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and following safety and infection-control procedures in a hospital environment. The position pays $16.00 per hour and offers tentative schedules for either 1st shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or 2nd shift, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Employees must be available to work rotational weekends. Full-time employees qualify for benefits, subject to eligibility and company policy.
Requirements
- High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent required.
- Must be available to work rotational weekends.
- Must complete post-offer medical screening, background screening, and drug test.
- Ability to work standing for long periods.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.

Responsibilities
- Pick up and remove trash and debris daily.
- Properly segregate recyclables and materials eligible for composting.
- Perform cleanup in assigned areas as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Follow safety procedures when handling hazardous materials.
- Communicate issues to management.
- Follow sanitation and infection-control standards.
- Properly package and store trash for disposal.
- Monitor and control dust levels in the area.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
