About The Position

Xanitos, Inc. is a management company providing hospital housekeeping, patient transport, central laundry, and patient observation services. It differentiates itself through its patented XRO System for cleaning patient rooms, operations management, and focus on top-quality service. Xanitos is hiring a full-time Environmental Service Trash Tech at UMH Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan, for the first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at $14.84 per hour. The position includes working every other weekend and holiday.

The Environmental Service Trash Tech may work in any location on client premises and cleans and maintains facilities in a healthcare campus. Duties may vary according to account needs, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Post-offer medical screening, background screening, and drug test required.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the listed physical and visual demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the janitorial industry.
• Medical cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and remove trash and debris daily.
• Properly segregate recyclables and materials eligible for composting.
• Perform cleanup in assigned areas as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Follow safety procedures when handling hazardous materials.
• Communicate issues to management.
• Follow sanitation and infection-control standards.
• Properly package and store trash for disposal.
• Monitor and control dust levels in the area.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
