About The Position

Under management direction, a Hospital Services Technician travels between customer healthcare facilities to provide scheduled, on-site collection and exchange of waste containers for Stericycle programs, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. The position serves University of New Mexico Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital locations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. No prior hospital service experience is required; training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 4:00 a.m. start time. The stated pay rate is $18 per hour. This role requires on-site presence at customer locations and compliance with customer-mandated immunization requirements. Work takes place both indoors in garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoors, including in inclement weather, heat, and humidity.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
On-site presence at WMHS customer locations and compliance with all mandatory immunization requirements imposed by those customers.
Strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations, or equivalent related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Two years of industry-related experience in a customer service capacity, or equivalent related work experience.
Accredited high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule.
Communicate duty status on a defined schedule.
