About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. The role cleans and disinfects assigned areas, transports and removes waste, sanitizes, stocks, and organizes work areas. The technician follows standard work processes and infection prevention standards, properly mixes and stores chemicals, and uses personal protective equipment.

The position is scheduled for three 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 24 hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every-other-weekend and holiday rotations are required. The role is located at ThedaCare Medical Center – Berlin in Berlin, Wisconsin.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Complete company-provided Managing Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training within one year of employment if required by the position location.
• Ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, and pull, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Comply with department-specific competencies.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, equipment, furniture, common areas, and waiting rooms in accordance with hospital-approved infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to meet patient and department priorities and support safe outcomes.
• Work independently or as part of a team to achieve system standards.
• Learn and use required personal protective equipment according to infection prevention protocols.
• Use hospital-approved chemicals and disinfectants correctly and follow required dwell times.
• Handle regular, recycling, hazardous, chemotherapy, regulated medical, pharmaceutical, and radioactive waste according to applicable standards.
• Support the hospital’s mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality requirements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and ethical behavior.
