About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Morristown, Newton, Hackettstown, Randolph, Rockaway, Wayne, Parsippany, New Jersey, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is provided in pets’ homes, where veterinarians can give families time, guidance, and support through end-of-life decisions and goodbyes. The role involves independent mobile practice, supported by onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. The schedule is available for two to five days per week, with self-managed scheduling options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $70,000 to $145,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities for the stated full-time schedules. Veterinarians choose four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. Candidates must complete license verification, a background check, and a driving-record review before starting.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving-record review before the start date.

Responsibilities
