About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Caraopolis, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, allowing veterinarians to support families through end-of-life decisions and goodbyes with time, kindness, dignity, and respect. The role offers a slower-paced alternative to traditional clinic practice, with only a few appointments per day and no double-booking. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Schedule options range from two to five days per week, including self-managed part-time scheduling. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The company does not require non-compete agreements.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) degree.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
Support families through end-of-life decisions and help them say goodbye with dignity and peace.
Listen to families, explain care, and honor each pet’s story.
Travel independently to appointments in the service area.
Choose four weekend days per month to work, based on personal availability.
