About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Caraopolis, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The veterinarian helps families navigate end-of-life care in the comfort of their homes, taking time to listen, explain options, answer difficult questions, and support dignified, peaceful goodbyes. The work is mobile and performed independently, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Schedules are available for two to five days per week, including full-time and self-managed part-time options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The role includes choosing four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. Candidates must complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before starting.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Completion of license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
