About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Provo, West Valley, Orem, Spanish Fork, Springville, Vineyard, Lehi, Santaquin, and surrounding areas. Care is provided in pets’ homes, where veterinarians support families through end-of-life decisions and help pets experience a dignified, peaceful goodbye. The role offers a slower-paced practice with a few appointments per day and no double-booking, allowing time to listen, explain, and honor each pet’s story. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Schedules are self-managed and can range from two days per week to full-time. Compensation is prorated according to schedule; listed options include five-day full-time at a $105,000 base salary and four-day full-time starting at $90,000, both with quarterly bonus opportunities. The posting states full-time compensation ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 depending on schedule. There is no non-compete agreement. Weekend scheduling is flexible: veterinarians choose four weekend days per month.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
- Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.

- Listen to families, answer difficult questions, and explain care with kindness.
- Travel independently to appointments in the listed Utah service areas.
