About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and families in Memorial, Bellaire, West University, the Heights, and the surrounding Texas metropolitan area. Care is delivered in clients’ homes, with time to listen, answer questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace. Veterinarians practice independently while receiving onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues. Schedules are available for two to five days per week, including self-managed scheduling options. Compensation is guaranteed and ranges from $65,000 to $155,000 depending on schedule, with generous quarterly bonus opportunities. Five-day and four-day schedules are described as full-time; two- and three-day schedules can be full-time or self-managed part-time. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian: four weekend days per month, chosen to fit their schedule. The role does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
