About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and families in Cherry Hill, Medford, Washington Township, Marlton, Collingswood, New Jersey, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The veterinarian provides care in pets’ homes, helping families navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced alternative to traditional clinic work, with a few appointments each day and time to listen, explain, and support families. The veterinarian practices independently while on the road and receives onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, training, and support from experienced colleagues. Scheduling options range from two to five days per week, including self-managed part-time scheduling. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian: four weekend days per month. Compensation is guaranteed and varies by schedule, with quarterly bonus opportunities. The employer does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
