Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Lexington Park, Mechanicsville, La Plata, Huntington, Maryland, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The veterinarian provides care in clients’ homes, helping families navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced, mobile practice with a few appointments per day and no double-booking. Veterinarians practice independently on the road, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Scheduling options range from two days per week to full time, with self-managed scheduling available for some part-time arrangements. Full-time options include five-day and four-day schedules, both with guaranteed salary and quarterly bonus opportunities. Compensation is prorated for two- and three-day schedules and ranges from $45,000 to $130,000 depending on schedule. Veterinarians choose four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. The employer states that it does not use non-compete agreements.
