About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care in pets’ homes across Anderson Township, Indian Hill, Hyde Park, Mariemont, Loveland, Milford, and the surrounding metropolitan area. The role focuses on giving pets and families attentive, dignified end-of-life care in a familiar setting. Visits are intentionally limited so veterinarians can listen, explain options, and support families without the pace of a traditional clinic. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments, with support from thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Scheduling options include five-day and four-day full-time schedules, as well as two- and three-day schedules and self-managed part-time options. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian: four weekend days per month, chosen to fit their schedule. Compensation ranges from $55,000 to $110,000, depending on part- or full-time schedule, with guaranteed salary for the stated five- and four-day full-time options, prorated compensation for other schedules, and quarterly bonus opportunities. The employer states that it does not require non-compete agreements.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent (DVM/VMD/BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
- Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care for pets in their homes.
- Spend time with families, answer their questions with compassion, and help them make end-of-life decisions.
- Support dignified and peaceful goodbyes for pets and their families.
- Practice independently while traveling to appointments, with support from the hospice team as needed.
