About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Toledo and the surrounding metropolitan area, including Bowling Green, Ohio, and Monroe, Michigan. The role focuses on delivering thoughtful end-of-life care in pets’ homes, allowing time to listen to families, answer questions, and support dignified goodbyes without the pace of a traditional clinic. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments and receive onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and support from experienced colleagues. Schedules are available from two to five days per week, including self-managed part-time options. Full-time compensation depends on schedule, with guaranteed salary and quarterly bonus opportunities. Weekend work is arranged by choosing four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed rotation.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities
