About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and families in the Cleveland metropolitan area. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, where veterinarians help families navigate end-of-life decisions and provide dignified, compassionate goodbyes. The role offers a mobile, independent practice with a few appointments each day, allowing time to listen, explain, and support families without the pace of a traditional clinic. Veterinarians receive onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and access to experienced colleagues. Schedules are self-managed and available across two to five days per week, with full-time and part-time options. Full-time compensation depends on schedule: five days pays a $105,000 base salary, and four days starts at $90,000, with quarterly bonus opportunities. Two- and three-day schedules are available with prorated compensation. Weekend work is arranged by choosing four weekend days per month. The employer does not require a non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Candidates must complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before their start date.
