About The Position
As a Private Duty Nurse, you will provide personalized, high-quality care to clients in a comfortable home environment. The position provides one-on-one home care, with immediate needs focused on pediatric patients from birth through age 21. Centria Healthcare serves people with medically complex conditions, including children who may need tracheostomy and ventilator support and adults recovering from severe traumatic injuries. Nurses provide skilled care and assist with daily living activities while monitoring clients’ health and coordinating with families, caregivers, and medical professionals. Centria offers training, opportunities to shadow experienced nurses, clinical support, and flexible scheduling. The specific position described is a day shift, though other shifts are available across the organization.
Requirements
- Be a licensed RN or LPN in the state of Michigan.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in home health, private duty nursing, or long-term care.
- For pediatric positions, experience with tracheotomy and ventilator care.
- Knowledge of paraplegia-related care, including skin integrity, mobility assistance, and respiratory support.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management when applicable, catheter care, wound care, medication administration, and bowel and bladder programs.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including repositioning, transfers, and hygiene.
- Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being, and report concerns to the healthcare team.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to help create a positive and comfortable environment.
- Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and medical professionals to maintain continuity of care.
