About The Position

As a Private Duty Nurse, you will deliver personalized, high-quality nursing care to a pediatric client in the comfort of their home. Centria Healthcare serves patients of all ages with medically complex conditions, including children with needs such as tracheostomies and ventilators, and adults recovering from severe traumatic injuries. The organization provides training, clinical support, and evidence-based protocols to help nurses deliver care confidently. This specific position is a day shift, and the pediatric population ranges from birth to 21 years old. Centria describes the role as one-to-one care and offers training and opportunities to shadow experienced nurses, including for nurses who are new to home care or need a refresher on tracheostomy care.

Requirements

Hold an active RN or LPN license in the state of Michigan.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in home health, private duty nursing, or long-term care.
For pediatric positions, experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Knowledge of paraplegia-related care, including skin integrity, mobility assistance, and respiratory support.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing care, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management if applicable, catheter care, wound care, medication administration, and bowel and bladder programs.
Assist with activities of daily living, including repositioning, transfers, and hygiene.
Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being, and report concerns to the healthcare team.
Offer emotional support and companionship to help maintain a positive and comfortable environment.
Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and medical professionals to maintain continuity of care.
