Pediatric COTA – Choose Your Schedule
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric provides pediatric home health therapy in children’s homes, daycares, and schools. The Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) delivers personalized, one-on-one care in these settings and works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The role includes implementing physician-approved treatment plans, supporting children’s functional development, educating families and caregivers, collaborating with the care team, and completing clinical documentation. Scheduling is flexible, with Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN opportunities, and caseloads are gradually ramped up for new hires.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Hold a current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license by the anticipated start date.
Nice To Haves
- One year of pediatric or related experience is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist according to physician-approved treatment plans.
- Implement interventions to improve strength, mobility, coordination, fine motor skills, activities of daily living, and overall functional independence.
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
