Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide nonmedical support to mostly older adults in their homes in Summit County, Ohio. Duties include helping with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, companionship, and mobility. Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks, which are handled by nurses. The work is physical, with aides on their feet most of the day and helping clients move around. Shifts are during the day, between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care taking place from 8 AM to 5 PM. There are no overnight shifts. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Shifts vary in length, from 2–3 hours to 4–6 hours or 8 hours, and aides generally serve several clients across different days. Candidates share their available days and times during a phone interview, and Haven matches clients to those schedules and stated limits. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients, with optional fill-in shifts for additional hours. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an active or expired STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on interview; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. For a private-pay client referred by the aide, pay is $19 per hour for an HHA and $20 per hour for an STNA. Holiday work pays 10% extra. Pay is issued every two weeks by direct deposit. Drive time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and home from the last client is not. Performance raises are available in the first two years: $0.50 at 90 days, $0.50 at one year, and $1.00 at two years, with a missed raise carrying over. Additional incentives include a $100 perfect-attendance payment after 30 days and referral payments for aides and private-pay clients. Candidates can qualify with an STNA license, an HHA certificate meeting the stated criteria, at least one year of care experience at one company under an RN or LPN, or by completing Haven's free 32-hour training for applicants with no experience. Some HHA candidates must pass Ohio's written and skills tests, scoring at least 80% on both, at Haven's Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and candidates with qualifying prior HHA test results can skip the test. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, test if required, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. The position requires a driver's license, a personal car with insurance that covers work driving, successful background checks, legal authorization to work in the United States, and a minimum age of 18. Haven is a W-2 employer and an E-Verify participant. The posting states that there is no PTO, 401(k), or health insurance.
