Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide in-home support, primarily to older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Work is scheduled during daytime hours between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care occurring between 8 AM and 5 PM. Overnight shifts are not available. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Visits vary in length, from approximately 2–3 hours to 4–6 hours or 8 hours, and workers generally serve several clients across different days. Applicants provide their available days and times during a phone interview, and the company matches clients to those schedules and stated limits. The work includes helping clients bathe, dress, eat, move around, and manage light cleaning and errands, as well as providing companionship. The role is physical and involves being on one's feet for much of the day and assisting people with mobility. Home Health Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks; those duties are for nurses. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on interview; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. A private-pay client referral results in a rate of $19 per hour for an HHA or $20 per hour for an STNA. Holiday work pays an additional 10%. Employees are paid every two weeks by direct deposit as W-2 employees. Drive time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and from the last client is not. Performance raises are available at 90 days, one year, and two years, subject to the stated criteria. Additional attendance and referral incentives are offered. Applicants can qualify through an active or expired STNA license, a qualifying HHA certificate, at least one year of experience with one company under an RN or LPN, or a free 32-hour training pathway for candidates with no experience. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, test if required, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Ohio-required HHA written and skills tests require a score of at least 80% on each part and are taken in person at the Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and applicants who can document a qualifying prior HHA test may skip the test. Client assignments are matched to applicants' stated limits, including pets, smoking, travel distance, location, days, and times. More restrictive preferences can reduce the number of available matches and increase the wait. The first two weeks may include fill-in shifts while reliability is assessed, although permanent clients may be assigned sooner. Most aides have two to four regular clients and may choose to take additional fill-in shifts. The company expects employees to attend the shifts they commit to and asks them to communicate if their availability changes. Applicants must have a driver's license, their own car with insurance that covers work driving, pass background checks, have legal authorization to work in the United States, be at least 18 years old, be available between 6 AM and 8 PM, and work at least 20 hours per week. The employer states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance. Haven Home Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an E-Verify participant.
