Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide nonmedical support to mostly older adults in their homes in Summit County, Ohio. Duties include bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, errands, companionship, and helping clients move around. Employees do not administer medication or perform medical tasks; those duties are handled by nurses. Work is scheduled during the day, between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care taking place from 8 AM to 5 PM. Overnight shifts are not offered. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Individual visits may last 2–3, 4–6, or 8 hours, and reaching the weekly minimum will usually involve serving several clients on different days. Applicants state their available days and times during the phone interview, and clients are matched to that availability and to stated limits such as travel distance, location, pets, and smoking. More restrictive preferences may mean a longer wait for a match. During the first two weeks, reliability may be assessed through fill-in shifts; permanent clients are assigned sooner if there is an immediate match. Afterward, aides generally have 2–4 regular clients and may choose to take additional fill-in shifts. Employees are expected to attend shifts they have committed to and to communicate if their availability changes. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on interview; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. A private-pay client referred by the aide pays $19 per hour for an HHA or $20 per hour for an STNA. Holiday work pays an additional 10%. Employees are paid every two weeks by direct deposit as W-2 employees. Drive time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and from the last client is not. Performance raises are available at 90 days, one year, and two years, subject to attendance criteria. Additional incentives include an attendance bonus and referral bonuses. Applicants can qualify through an active or expired STNA license; an eligible HHA certificate; at least one year of experience with one company under an RN or LPN; or a free 32-hour training program for applicants without experience. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, a test if required, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Ohio-required HHA written and skills tests must each be passed with at least 80% and are held in person at the Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and applicants who provide proof of a qualifying prior HHA test may skip the test. Applicants must have a driver's license, their own car with insurance covering work driving, pass background checks, be legally authorized to work in the United States, be at least 18, work at least 20 hours per week, and be available between 6 AM and 8 PM. The employer states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance. Haven Home Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an E-Verify participant.
