Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide nonmedical in-home support, primarily to older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Duties include helping clients bathe and dress, preparing meals, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship. Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks; those are handled by nurses. Work is during daytime hours between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with most care scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There are no overnight shifts, and employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Visits may last 2–3, 4–6, or 8 hours, so aides commonly serve several clients across different days. Candidates share their available days and times during the phone interview, and Haven matches clients to those schedules and stated limits. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients each week, with optional fill-in shifts for additional hours. The position is physical: aides spend much of the day on their feet and help clients move around. Employees need a driver’s license, their own insured car with coverage for work driving, the legal right to work in the United States, and the ability to pass background checks. Candidates must be at least 18. The position is a W-2 role. Haven states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance. Hourly pay depends on qualifications: $18 for an active or expired STNA; $16–$18 for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on the interview; and $16 for completing the free training pathway. Referred private-pay clients have higher listed rates: $19 for an HHA and $20 for an STNA. Holiday work pays an additional 10%. Pay is issued every two weeks by direct deposit, and travel time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and home from the last client is not. The posting lists performance raises during the first two years and additional attendance and referral incentives. Candidates can qualify with an STNA, a qualifying HHA certificate, at least one year of experience at one company under an RN or LPN, or the free 32-hour training pathway. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, an online questionnaire, a test if required, online paperwork and orientation, a document check, and fingerprinting. Ohio requires HHAs to pass written and skills tests with at least 80%; eligible STNAs and candidates who can show qualifying prior HHA test results may skip the test. Haven asks candidates to describe scheduling and client preferences, including travel distance, cities, pets, and smoking, during the phone interview. Client assignments are made within those limits, though narrower availability can mean a longer wait for a matching client. During the first two weeks, reliability may be assessed through fill-in shifts; permanent clients may be assigned sooner if there is an immediate match. The employer expects aides to attend the shifts they commit to and to communicate if their availability changes.
