Home Health Aide - Daytime Shifts, No Overnights

Haven Home Care•Munroe Falls, OH
•$16 - $20•Onsite

About The Position

Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide in-home support to clients, primarily older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Work includes helping clients bathe, dress, eat, move around, and complete light cleaning and errands, as well as providing companionship. The role does not involve administering medication or performing medical tasks; those duties are handled by nurses. The work is physical and involves being on your feet most of the day and assisting clients with movement. Shifts are scheduled during the day between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care occurring between 8 AM and 5 PM. Overnight shifts are not offered. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Individual visits may last 2–3, 4–6, or 8 hours, and employees typically serve multiple clients across different days. Applicants provide their available days and times during a phone interview, and clients are matched to that availability and to stated limits such as travel distance, pets, and smoking. During the first two weeks, employees may receive fill-in shifts while reliability is assessed; permanent clients may be assigned sooner when there is a match. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients and may choose to accept additional fill-in shifts. Qualification can be based on an active or expired STNA license, a qualifying HHA certificate, at least one year of relevant experience with one company under an RN or LPN, or completion of Haven's free 32-hour online training for candidates with no experience. Depending on the path, candidates may need to take Ohio's written and skills tests in person at the Cuyahoga Falls office; both require a score of at least 80%. STNAs and candidates who can document a prior qualifying HHA test may skip the test. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, an online questionnaire, a test if needed, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Pay is $18 per hour for STNAs; $16–$18 per hour for candidates with an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on the interview; and $16 per hour for those completing the free training pathway. Referred private-pay clients have separate rates of $19 per hour for HHAs and $20 per hour for STNAs. Holiday work receives an additional 10%. Employees are paid every two weeks by direct deposit as W-2 employees, and drive time between clients is paid; travel to the first client and home from the last client is not paid. Performance raises are available at 90 days, one year, and two years, subject to criteria including attendance. Additional earning opportunities include attendance and referral bonuses. Applicants must have a driver's license, their own car with insurance covering work driving, pass background checks, have legal authorization to work in the United States, be at least 18 years old, be available between 6 AM and 8 PM, and work at least 20 hours per week. Haven states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance. The role is in Summit County, Ohio; client work takes place in clients' homes, with required testing at the company's Cuyahoga Falls office when applicable.
