Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide non-medical assistance to mostly older adults in their homes in Summit County, Ohio. Duties include helping with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, and companionship. Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks, which are handled by nurses. Shifts take place during the day, between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with most care scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There are no overnight shifts. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Shifts may last 2–3, 4–6, or 8 hours, and aides generally serve several clients across different days. Candidates provide their available days and times during the phone interview; client assignments are matched to those stated availability limits and preferences. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients, with optional fill-in shifts for additional hours. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. Aides earn an additional 10% on holidays. Drive time between clients is paid, but travel to the first client and home from the last client is not. Pay is issued every two weeks by direct deposit, and the position is W-2 employment. The posting also describes attendance and referral bonuses, private-pay-client referral rates, and performance raises during the first two years. Applicants qualify through one of four routes: an active or expired STNA license; an HHA certificate meeting the stated training and RN-signature criteria; at least one year of experience at one company under an RN or LPN; or completion of Haven's free 32-hour training for candidates with no experience. Some candidates must pass Ohio's written and skills tests with at least 80% on both parts. Testing is in person at the Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and applicants who can provide qualifying prior HHA test results may skip the test. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, any required test, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Applicants must have a driver's license, their own car with insurance covering work driving, pass background checks, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and be at least 18 years old. The job is physical: aides are on their feet much of the day and help clients move around. The employer states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance.
