Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide in-home support, primarily to older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Work is scheduled during daytime hours between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care taking place from 8 AM to 5 PM. Overnight shifts are not required. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Shifts vary from approximately 2–3 hours to 4–6 hours or 8 hours, and reaching weekly hours usually involves serving several clients across different days. Applicants provide their available days and times during a phone interview, and clients are matched to those stated availability and preferences. Care includes bathing, dressing, meal assistance, light cleaning, errands, companionship, and helping clients move around. The role is physical, with employees on their feet much of the day. Home Health Aides do not administer medicine or perform medical tasks; those duties are handled by nurses. Client assignments take account of stated limits such as pets, smoking, travel distance, days, and times. More restrictive preferences can mean a longer wait for a suitable assignment. During the first two weeks, reliability may be assessed through fill-in shifts; regular clients are assigned when there is an immediate match. Most aides have two to four regular clients, and additional fill-in shifts may be available. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an active or expired STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on interview; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. A private-pay client referral increases the rate to $19 per hour for an HHA or $20 per hour for an STNA. Holiday work earns an additional 10%. Pay is issued every two weeks by direct deposit, and drive time between clients is paid, while travel to the first client and from the last client is not. The job is a W-2 position. Performance raises are available in the first two years: $0.50 at 90 days, $0.50 at one year, and $1.00 at two years, with missed raises carrying over. Additional incentives include $100 after 30 days with perfect attendance, referral payments for aides who stay, and payments for referred private-pay clients. Applicants may qualify through an STNA license, an HHA certificate of at least 30 hours (RN-signed unless completed online), at least one year of experience at one company under an RN or LPN, or a free 32-hour online training pathway for those without experience. HHA candidates generally complete an Ohio-required written and skills test, scoring at least 80% on both parts, at the company's Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and applicants who can document a prior passing HHA test may skip the test. The selection and onboarding process includes a phone conversation, a short online questionnaire, a test if required, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. The position requires a driver's license, a personal car with insurance covering work driving, successful background checks, legal authorization to work in the United States, and a minimum age of 18. Applicants must be available between 6 AM and 8 PM and able to work at least 20 hours per week. The company states that it does not offer PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance.
