Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide nonmedical in-home support, primarily to older adults, in Summit County, Ohio. Work takes place during daytime hours between 6 AM and 8 PM, with most care scheduled between 8 AM and 5 PM. Overnight shifts are not required. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week; shifts vary from approximately 2 to 8 hours, and employees generally serve several clients across different days. Applicants share their available days and times during a phone interview, and clients are matched according to stated availability and preferences. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients each week, with optional fill-in shifts for additional hours. Duties include assisting clients with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, mobility, and companionship. The role is physical, involving being on your feet much of the day and helping clients move. Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks. Haven pays for driving time between clients, but not travel to the first client or home from the last client. The position is a W-2 job, paid every two weeks by direct deposit. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. Aides serving a private-pay client they referred receive $19 per hour as an HHA or $20 per hour as an STNA. Holiday work pays an additional 10%. Three performance raises are available during the first two years: $0.50 at 90 days, $0.50 at one year, and $1.00 at two years; missed raises carry over. Additional incentives include $100 for perfect attendance after 30 days, referral payments for aides, and payments for private-pay client referrals. Applicants can qualify through an active or expired STNA license, a qualifying HHA certificate, at least one year of experience with one company under an RN or LPN, or a free 32-hour training pathway for people without experience. The training pathway takes six days and is unpaid. Ohio requires HHAs to pass a written and skills test with at least 80% on both parts, taken in person at the Cuyahoga Falls office. STNAs and applicants who can provide proof of a prior passing HHA test may skip the test. Applicants whose experience or certificate cannot be verified may qualify through free online training; those with a care background retain interview-based pay of $16–$18 per hour. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, a short online questionnaire, a test if needed, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Haven respects applicants’ stated limits and preferences for travel distance, location, days and times, pets, and smoking. More restrictive availability can mean a longer wait for a client match. During the first two weeks, reliability may be assessed through fill-in shifts, although permanent clients may be assigned immediately if a match is available. The employer emphasizes dependable attendance and expects employees to work the days they commit to; schedule changes can be discussed with the company.
