Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides to provide nonmedical assistance to mostly older adults in their homes in Summit County, Ohio. Work includes helping clients bathe, dress, prepare meals, do light cleaning and errands, and providing companionship. Aides do not administer medication or perform medical tasks; those are handled by nurses. Shifts take place during the day, within 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., with most care scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no overnight shifts. Employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Visits may be 2–3, 4–6, or 8 hours, and reaching the weekly minimum generally involves serving several clients on different days. Candidates provide their available days and times during a phone interview, and Haven matches clients to that availability and stated limits. Most aides have 2–4 regular clients, with optional fill-in shifts for additional hours. During the first two weeks, reliability may be assessed through fill-in shifts; permanent clients are assigned earlier if there is an immediate match. Pay depends on qualifications: $18 per hour for an STNA; $16–$18 per hour for an HHA certificate or qualifying experience, based on the interview; and $16 per hour after the free training pathway. Aides earn $19 per hour for a private-pay client they referred if they are an HHA, or $20 per hour if they are an STNA. Holiday work pays 10% extra. Pay is every two weeks by direct deposit, and drive time between clients is paid; travel to the first client and home from the last client is not. The position is W-2. Performance raises are available at 90 days, one year, and two years, subject to the stated attendance criteria. Additional bonuses are available for perfect attendance and successful referrals. Applicants can qualify through an active or expired STNA license, an eligible HHA certificate, at least one year of qualifying care experience with one company under an RN or LPN, or a free 32-hour training pathway for those without experience. Ohio requires an in-person written and skills test for HHAs, with an 80% score required on both parts; qualifying STNAs and applicants with documented prior passing HHA test results can skip the test. The hiring process includes a phone conversation, online questionnaire, a test if needed, online paperwork, online orientation and document check, and fingerprinting. Applicants must have a driver’s license, their own car with insurance covering work driving, pass background checks, have legal authorization to work in the United States, be at least 18, work at least 20 hours per week, and be available during the 6 a.m.–8 p.m. daytime window. The employer states that this position does not include PTO, a 401(k), or health insurance.
