About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Hitch Service Technician to work in U-Haul Moving and Storage Center lots, helping customers with towing packages through hands-on technical service. The role involves understanding customers’ needs, explaining available towing packages, recommending and installing suitable packages on customer vehicles, and providing exceptional customer support. Technicians participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University. The position is located at 3990 N Service Rd, Saint Peters, Missouri 63301. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The job includes paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including exposure to moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals, and may require protective clothing or gear. Physical demands include extended periods indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in the states listed in the posting.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
Basic wiring and hand/power tool experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages.
Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles.
Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
