About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Hitch Service Technician to work in the lot of a U-Haul Moving and Storage Center, using technical skills to support customers. The role involves explaining towing options, recommending and installing appropriate tow packages on customer vehicles, and providing customer service. The position pays $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul describes a “Hire Fast, Pay Fast” process: candidates can schedule two paid, hands-on working interviews and may receive a $100 hiring bonus. A $300 cash bonus is also offered upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Ongoing education is provided through U-Haul University. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or equipment may be required. The role requires periods of stationary work indoors and outdoors, moving through spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
Basic wiring experience.
Experience using hand and power tools.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages.
Recommend and install the appropriate tow package on customer vehicles.
Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
