About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a hard-working, knowledgeable Hitch Service Technician to work in the lot of a U-Haul Moving and Storage Center. The technician provides service to customers using technical expertise, explains U-Haul towing packages, and recommends and installs suitable tow packages on customer vehicles. The role includes ongoing education through U-Haul University and other assigned duties. The position is located at 9009 Waukegan Rd, Morton Grove, Illinois, and pays $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul offers two paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of Equipment Inspection and Verification through its 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. Physical demands include extended periods indoors and outdoors remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 pounds, with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in specified states. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
Basic wiring and hand/power tool experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages.
Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles.
Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
