About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a hard-working, knowledgeable Hitch Service Technician to work in a U-Haul Moving and Storage Center lot. The role provides service to customers using technical expertise, including explaining towing package options and recommending and installing the appropriate package on customer vehicles. The position also involves participating in continuing education through U-Haul University. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. This position is located at 390 Providence Hwy, Norwood, Massachusetts 02062, and pays $15.00 to $17.00 per hour. U-Haul describes the work environment as involving moderate risks or discomforts and requiring safety precautions. The job requires periods of stationary work indoors and outdoors, moving through spaces, reaching for and using tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine users in Massachusetts and certain other states.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
Basic wiring and hand/power tool experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Understand and explain U-Haul’s variety of towing packages.
Recommend and install the right tow package on customer vehicles.
Provide exceptional customer service and support to U-Haul customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
