About The Position

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc., a manufacturer of structural wind towers in North America, is hiring a Heavy Assembler in Belen, New Mexico. The Heavy Assembler assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts, components, subassemblies, assemblies, and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. The role fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and operating requirements, and repairs units or products that do not meet requirements. The position works in plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas, as well as on plant grounds. The schedule may include first, second, or third shift; coverage beyond normal hours and work on weekends or holidays may be required. Overtime, including Saturdays, may be needed, and the schedule is subject to change. The role may involve exposure to high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

Two years of experience preferred.
Knowledge of all finished product specifications.
Must be open to first, second, and third shifts.
Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
Must observe and follow all safety practices, rules, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in completing tasks to meet deadlines.
Operate mobile equipment.
Verify torque sequence and values (certified).
Perform quality checks to meet customer specifications.
Read and follow complex instructions.
Observe and follow safety rules and practices, and participate in safety committees or initiatives as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts, components, subassemblies, assemblies, and complete units.
Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
Repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.
