About The Position

The Heavy Assembler assembles metal products partially or completely at a bench or on the shop floor. The role positions and fastens parts using knowledge of the unit or controlled documents, and operates drills, hand/air impact wrenches, and hand tools to produce completed units that can pass final inspection. The position is onsite and offers competitive hourly pay plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus, subject to terms and conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and must use earplugs due to workplace noise. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur. Maintaining good housekeeping and workplace safety is expected.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations with other employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Close vision.

Responsibilities

• Position parts according to knowledge of the unit being assembled or controlled documents.
• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners.
• Operate drills, hand/air impact wrenches, and hand tools.
• Produce a completed unit capable of passing final inspection.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain good housekeeping and workplace safety.
