About The Position

Keen, a Wallenius Wilhelmsen company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Assembler at its equipment processing center in Brunswick, Georgia. The role involves assembling partially built heavy equipment, handling and installing machine parts, and operating equipment to facilitate assembly. The starting pay is $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The position requires working indoors and outdoors in varying reasonable weather and environmental conditions. Employees may encounter extreme temperatures, wetness, wind, fumes, dust particles, and drafts. The company emphasizes safety and compliance with OSHA standards and company safety regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and schematics.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems for construction and agricultural equipment.
• Sufficient hand dexterity and strength to operate a sledgehammer and power tools and withstand tool vibration.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead and climb to and work at heights of up to 15 feet.
• Ability to complete a full workday walking and/or standing in reasonable weather conditions.
• Current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete assembly of partially built heavy equipment using hand, electric, and air-powered tools.
• Unpackage, install, and remove machine parts.
• Drive and operate equipment, including backing up, tilting, raising, or lowering attachments and other machine movements, to facilitate proper assembly.
• Work outside in reasonable weather conditions.
• Read and interpret machine manuals and schematics for assembly purposes.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety regulations.
