Heating Service Technician (Sign-on Bonus)
About The Position
The Heating Service Technician is responsible for day-to-day customer service involving heating equipment. The role troubleshoots and diagnoses service equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures, with success measured by the quality of work and customer satisfaction. The technician installs, maintains, and repairs oil- and propane-fired heating systems and related equipment, inspects completed repairs for safe operation, completes service-call paperwork, maintains inventory, and keeps the service truck in good working order. The position includes rotational evening and weekend on-call coverage.
Requirements
- Hold a valid propane or natural gas license.
- Have knowledge of wiring and plumbing.
- Work well with others and demonstrate good organization and communication skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service.
- Be able to drive frequently, climb in and out of a vehicle, work in confined spaces, lift heavy items, and work at heights of up to 50 feet.
- Be able to install various types of heating equipment.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills.

Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot oil- and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and oil tanks.
- Review diagnostics and use appropriate tools to troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Perform final inspections after repairs to ensure equipment is operating safely.
- Complete the appropriate daily paperwork for each service call.
- Maintain daily and yearly inventory.
- Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable.
- Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity.
- Participate in rotational on-call coverage during evenings and weekends.
