About The Position

The Hearing Instrument Specialist conducts hearing assessments for the purpose of fitting and dispensing hearing aids. Provides ongoing support and education to patients in collaboration with clinical staff. Responsible for both clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. May be assigned to specific medical specialty department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience in an ENT or Audiology practice required
  • Connecticut Hearing Instrument Specialist license required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Audiology, Hearing Instrument Science preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in an ENT or Audiology practice preferred
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) is preferred.
