About The Position

The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) partners with supported Dentists to help patients make a financial commitment to begin the recommended course of treatment promptly. The role involves explaining treatment choices and available financial options, addressing common objections, and helping keep Dentist schedules productive. The HC supports patients in a consultative and educational manner while promoting a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL). The Healthcare Coordinator follows the company’s behavioral framework and operational practices, uses PDS systems and tools, and coordinates with clinicians during patient handoffs. The position also involves obtaining insurance pre-authorizations when needed, supporting comprehensive care and referrals, participating in team meetings, and complying with company and regulatory requirements. Travel between offices might be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance.
Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multitask without compromising work quality.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Gain patients’ financial commitment to begin the dentistry recommended by the Dentist.
Develop proficiency in PDS systems and tools to help patients make informed decisions suited to their wants and needs.
Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician for every exam patient.
Serve as a subject matter expert on available financial options and help patients find options that fit their budget.
Professionally address common patient objections to starting treatment.
Obtain insurance pre-authorizations when required before treatment is completed.
Support the Comprehensive Care Model within the offices and through referrals outside the office.
Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
Understand business imperatives and how the role affects metrics and results.
Make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework and demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand.
Learn about the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and treat others professionally and respectfully.
