About The Position

The Healthcare Coordinator partners with supported Dentists to help patients make a financial commitment to begin the recommended course of treatment. The role involves explaining treatment choices and financial options, addressing common objections, and helping keep Dentists’ schedules productive. The coordinator supports patients in a consultative and educational manner while promoting a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL). The Healthcare Coordinator models company culture and operational practices, collaborates with clinicians, and supports comprehensive patient care. The position also involves obtaining insurance pre-authorizations when needed, participating in team meetings, maintaining compliance with company and regulatory policies, and carrying out other assigned duties. Travel between offices might be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance.
Results-oriented, energetic self-starter who sets realistic goals, meets commitments, persists, and prioritizes daily work.
Flexible, adaptive, empathetic, passionate, and ethical patient advocate.
Data-driven, detailed, organized, and structured approach, with comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

Gain patients’ financial commitment to begin the dentistry recommended by the Dentist.
Develop proficiency in PDS systems, tools, skills, and resources to help patients make decisions suited to their wants and needs.
Complete the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician for every exam patient.
Understand available financial options and present choices that fit patients’ budgets.
Professionally address common objections to starting treatment.
Obtain required insurance pre-authorizations before treatment when needed.
Ensure the office follows the Comprehensive Care Model, including referrals outside the office.
Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
Understand business imperatives and how the role affects metrics and results.
Make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework and demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand.
Learn about the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies and treat others respectfully.
