About The Position

The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) partners with supported Dentists to help patients make a financial commitment to begin the recommended course of treatment promptly. The role involves understanding and using financial options to support case acceptance, educating patients about treatment choices, addressing common objections, and helping keep Dentist schedules productive. The Healthcare Coordinator supports patients in a consultative and educational manner while contributing to a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL). The role also supports the Comprehensive Care Model, participates in office meetings and huddles, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Travel between offices might be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance.
Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multitask effectively without compromising work quality.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Travel between offices might be required.

Nice To Haves

Prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business.

Responsibilities

Help patients make a financial commitment to begin the dentistry recommended by the Dentist.
Develop proficiency with the PDS system and tools to help patients make decisions suited to their wants and needs.
Complete the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician for every exam patient.
Understand available financial options and offer patients choices that fit their budgets.
Professionally address common patient objections to starting treatment.
Obtain insurance pre-authorizations when required before treatment.
Help ensure the office follows the Comprehensive Care Model, including referrals outside the office.
Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
Understand business imperatives and how the role affects metrics and results.
Make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework and demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand.
Learn about the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and treat others professionally and respectfully.
Comply with company policies and applicable state, federal, and other regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
