About The Position

The Healthcare Coordinator partners with supported Dentists to help patients make a financial commitment to begin the recommended course of treatment promptly. The role involves explaining financial options and treatment choices, addressing common objections, and helping keep Dentist schedules productive. The Healthcare Coordinator supports patients in a consultative and educational manner while contributing to a Perfect Patient Experience and building Patients for Life. The position also supports the office’s comprehensive care model, patient insurance processes, operational goals, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Travel between offices might be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance.
Results-oriented, energetic self-starter who sets realistic goals, meets commitments, persists, and prioritizes daily work.
Patient advocacy skills, including flexibility, adaptability, empathy, passion, and ethical conduct.
Process-focused approach: data-driven decision-making, attention to detail, organization, structured work, knowledge of operational processes, and computer proficiency.
Financial acumen, including understanding profit drivers, using metrics, building team members’ and clinicians’ financial understanding, and understanding local market drivers and competition.

Willingness to travel between offices if required.

Responsibilities

Help patients make a financial commitment to begin the dentistry diagnosed by the Dentist.
Develop proficiency in PDS systems, tools, skills, and resources to help patients make decisions suited to their wants and needs.
Complete the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician for every exam patient.
Understand available financial options and present choices that fit patients’ budgets.
Professionally address common patient objections to starting treatment.
Obtain required insurance pre-authorizations before treatment when needed.
Support the Comprehensive Care Model within the office and through referrals outside the office.
Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
Understand business priorities and how the role affects metrics and results.
Make decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework and demonstrate stewardship of the brand.
Learn about the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and treat others professionally and respectfully.
Comply with company policies and applicable state, federal, and other regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
