About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is a Magnet Hospital where caregivers work alongside a dedicated team supporting high-quality patient care. The Health Unit Coordinator works on the 3 West Tower Complex Medical Care unit, which cares for adult and geriatric patients undergoing general, breast, gynecology, pancreatic/liver, and urology surgeries. The role performs administrative and clerical tasks that support the organization and flow of the department and provides customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in a customer service-related role.
Experience with typing, computer training, or equivalent coursework.

Nice To Haves

College degree.
Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

Greet, welcome, and orient newly admitted and transferred patients to the unit in person.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Help patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Perform computer tasks, including updating schedules and managing patient information.
Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot failures involving equipment such as the call system, portable phones, WOWs, and other unit devices.
Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
