About The Position

The Head of Product will create the product organization and lead product strategy for a commercial insurance Program Administrator that is transitioning from third-party software and SaaS vendors toward owning more of its technology. The role will identify high-value opportunities for technology, AI, data, and automation; turn them into a prioritized roadmap; and build the teams and operating model to deliver them. The position is initially both strategic and hands-on, spanning product vision, early product decisions, hiring, prioritization, and delivery. The Head of Product will work with the CEO and leaders across underwriting, claims, actuarial, operations, distribution, finance, legal, compliance, engineering, and data. The role will shape the company’s technology-enabled operating model, architecture, AI capabilities, customer experience, and competitive position. It will also help decide which capabilities to build, buy, integrate, or pursue through partnerships, and oversee operations related to AI. During the first year, the role is expected to assess existing systems, vendors, data capabilities, workflows, and technology gaps; align the company around a product and AI strategy; establish a business-outcome-oriented roadmap; define the future product organization and begin hiring; launch a limited number of high-impact technology or AI initiatives; create product-management processes; set build-versus-buy criteria; build relationships with business leaders and transferred employees; and demonstrate measurable progress in areas such as speed, efficiency, underwriting, distribution, user experience, or program-launch capacity. This is a remote position. Planned in-office activities may be required occasionally, typically 2–4 times per year. The employee must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States without employment sponsorship or a visa.
