Head of Product

Serverfarm

About The Position

Serverfarm is hiring a Head of Product to define and lead the new InCommand product, a solution built on a new technology stack for modern data-center operations, including high-density and AI infrastructure. The product will be API-first, delivered as a cloud service, and deployable in customers’ own environments. Development will use an agent-assisted engineering practice in which coding agents work from specifications under human review. Serverfarm’s own facilities will serve as the first customer, allowing capabilities to be proven in live operations. The Head of Product will determine the product’s vision, scope, priorities, specifications, acceptance criteria, and commercial approach. The role works closely with Architecture, Integrations, Developer Platform, Product Marketing, and operations engineers, and will grow the product function as the product develops.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience.
  • End-to-end ownership of a multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform or infrastructure product, including roadmap, specifications, and pricing.
  • Experience building a product from scratch, defining its scope and making early decisions with incomplete information.
  • Ability to write precise specifications and acceptance criteria that engineering teams and coding agents can build from.
  • Experience with operations-heavy users, such as operations centers, field or facilities teams, or industrial environments, and translating tacit processes into explicit requirements.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven product capabilities such as insights, recommendations, and assistants, and with the factors that make them trustworthy to users.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in your own work.
  • Experience with packaging and pricing modular enterprise software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present a product case to executives and engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or experience with DCIM products, including the data they manage, how data-center operators use them, and how they are bought.
  • Product experience with observability, monitoring, or other high-volume telemetry products, and understanding of telemetry economics, including cost-to-serve, data value, and packaging.
  • Experience defining and shipping an AI assistant or AI-driven insight capability, including evaluation, trust, provenance, and retrieval over operational data.
  • Experience as the product counterpart of a platform architect on an API-first product, translating customer needs into requirements for the architecture team.
  • Experience with specification-driven or AI-assisted development practices in which coding agents are first-class participants.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the new InCommand, from capabilities proven at Serverfarm facilities through broader industry adoption.
  • Maintain the functional specification repository and define acceptance criteria for every capability.
  • Decide what the new product does, how it differs from existing products, and what it leaves behind, using real usage data and input from data-center operators.
  • Define AI-first product capabilities, including insights, recommendations, and a trustworthy assistant with appropriate provenance and control.
  • Partner with Architecture to translate operator and customer needs into data-model and API requirements.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to document the product in a form the industry can adopt.
  • Shape packaging and pricing for a modular product offered as a cloud service and in customer environments.
  • Work daily with operations engineers as the voice of the customer.
  • Grow the product function as the product grows.

Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • 401k
  • Full coverage medical, dental, and vision
