About The Position

Seaside Vacation Homes is seeking a Head Housekeeper / Team Manager to lead a team of approximately 7-10 Property Manager Housekeepers. This is a management role focused on leading people and delivering results in a housekeeping operation, not a housekeeping job with some management duties. The manager will be responsible for the quality, productivity, development, and day-to-day performance of their team, ensuring homes are cleaned to company standards, on time, and on budget. While the dedicated scheduling lead handles employee scheduling and daily property assignments, the Team Manager's role is to execute the plan, monitor progress, maintain quality, solve problems, coach employees, and create urgency when necessary. The company emphasizes a coaching approach to management, focusing on identifying issues, retraining, and verifying corrections, rather than just fixing mistakes. Managers will utilize performance data to guide their efforts and develop their teams. The role requires a strong eye for quality and the ability to see details that guests might notice. Experience in various fields such as housekeeping, hotels, vacation rentals, property management, team leadership, or coaching is considered valuable.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of approximately 7-10 Property Manager Housekeepers.
Ensure the quality, productivity, development, and day-to-day performance of the team.
Maintain visibility over the entire operation, monitoring employee performance, quality, and productivity.
Ensure homes are cleaned on time, on budget, and to Seaside Vacation Homes standards.
Coach employees, identify issues, explain necessary changes, retrain or demonstrate techniques when necessary, and verify corrections.
Inspect the standard of work and hold the team accountable to it.
Utilize performance report cards to understand team performance and identify areas needing attention.
Address the root causes of recurring problems, not just immediate issues.
Motivate, correct, set expectations, track performance, and build confidence within the team.
Rally the team when the day gets tough without creating chaos.
Maintain urgency without sacrificing quality.
Follow through on actions and commitments.
Work within established systems, training, and management support.
