The Hallmark Merchandiser independently services the Hallmark department in assigned retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role maintains product displays and inventory, builds relationships with store teams, and represents Hallmark. Merchandisers use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for merchandising tasks and communication, and may occasionally work with products from other companies in the stores they service. The position averages 11–13 hours per week on a variable schedule during the work week. Work increases around seasonal holidays and may include extended hours, additional workdays, weekends, or work on certain holidays. Merchandisers may also assist with seasonal resets, installations, and other department changes, with remodel assignments typically communicated two weeks in advance. Paid training is provided through hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. This is a physically demanding role on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms. It requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures, along with standing, walking, kneeling, and squatting throughout the workday.
