About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Guitar Technician (Luthier) to provide maintenance and repair services for customer-owned instruments and assist with maintaining designated store inventory. The role supports Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing musicians and helping customers experience the joy of creating music. Repair Technicians build business through a positive customer experience and quality craftsmanship.

Successful technicians are customer-focused, approachable, knowledgeable, and committed to helping customers. They take initiative to identify and resolve issues, learn quickly, and develop product, store operations, sales, and leadership knowledge. They are also able to train others effectively and communicate techniques so they are retained. The technician is expected to work through Guitar Center’s certification program to develop a foundational understanding of products and sales techniques.

Requirements

• Skilled understanding of guitar repair.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and connect with customers.
• Ability to identify opportunities and issues, follow through on work, learn quickly, and take positive action independently.
• Ability to train learners effectively and communicate information and techniques so they are retained.
• Ability to work through the Guitar Center certification program to gain a base understanding of products and sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Service customer-owned instruments with a high level of craftsmanship.
• Maintain store-owned gear as requested.
• Complete warranty repair work.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
