About The Position

The Guest Room Attendant cleans guest accommodations according to established company standards. This full-time, year-round position is part of the Lodging team at the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel. The role involves maintaining guest-room security, following housekeeping and safety procedures, reporting issues, and working effectively without close supervision. Pay is $19.35 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing and walking for long periods, occasionally walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to constantly push a loaded cart weighing up to 300 pounds.
• Ability to repeatedly or continuously use abdominal and lower-back muscles to support the body over time.
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial position.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement, Core Values, and Cultural pillar.
• Clean assigned guest accommodations according to company standards within the stated 45-day time frame.
• Control master and guest-room keys and maintain the security of vacant and occupied guest rooms.
• Follow standards for cleaning stay-over rooms and handling guests’ property.
• Follow instructions from the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management to return to rooms and correct discrepancies.
• Follow lost-and-found procedures and immediately report found items to the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management.
• Immediately report maintenance-related problems to the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management.
• Stock the cart neatly and safely according to standards and instructions.
• Follow instructions for using chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Practice risk-management procedures, including morning stretches, and promptly report safety problems to supervisors.
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
• Perform tasks effectively without close supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
