About The Position

Verdes Cannabis is hiring a dependable, hardworking and motivated Grow Assistant for its Cultivation Department. This hands-on role supports daily cultivation operations through plant care, maintaining clean growing spaces, and assisting with harvesting. Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to perform physically demanding work are essential. During the first year, the role will focus primarily on transplanting, watering, pruning, harvesting and pot washing.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position paying $18 per hour, with a 40-hour workweek generally scheduled from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Availability is required Monday through Sunday, including holidays and inclement weather; consecutive days off are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Be a dependable team player with strong communication and time management skills.
• Demonstrate accountability, reliable attendance and willingness to take initiative.
• Commit to cleanliness, safety and consistent plant care.
• Be comfortable performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks, including dirty and wet work.
• Be available to work weekends, holidays and during inclement weather as scheduled.
• Be able to stand or remain stationary while performing repetitive tasks for up to eight hours per day.
• Be able to repeatedly lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and reach.
• Be able to work in hot, cold, humid or confined environments and around strong odors.
• Be able to work with live and dry plants that may irritate the skin, eyes, ears or nose.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily plant care, including hand-watering, transplanting, pruning and spraying.
• Move plants throughout cultivation facilities.
• Identify and report pests and plant health concerns.
• Complete room and row turnovers, including cleaning and sanitation.
• Wash pots and containers and clean equipment, tools and work areas daily.
• Collaborate with cultivation, harvest and dry/cure staff.
• Follow company policies and cultivation procedures safely and accurately.
• Assist with harvesting and other duties as assigned.
