About The Position

Affirm is seeking a Group Product Manager to lead a portfolio of ZT1 Labs initiatives in a hands-on builder role. ZT1 Labs is a small, senior product and engineering group that works directly with the CEO on important, ambiguous, cross-functional opportunities. The role has direct product ownership but no direct people-management responsibilities. The Group Product Manager will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for new products and platforms, partnering with engineering, analytics, design, revenue, and business teams to build, launch, and scale products. They will work with the CEO and executive team to turn high-level ideas into durable, scalable businesses. The position spans customer and market research, strategic opportunity definition, product vision and roadmap development, and end-to-end zero-to-one product development. The role includes hands-on work across UI/UX, AI-assisted prototyping, customer-facing copy, behavioral analysis, funnels, and experimentation. It also involves leading cross-functional teams through complex work, advising executives on product bets and tradeoffs, communicating decisions and risks, and establishing repeatable product practices for the ZT1 function. Affirm is a remote-first company; most roles can be performed from almost anywhere within the country of employment, though some positions may occasionally require office attendance. New hires are invited to attend an in-person onboarding experience. The position’s base pay range is $265,000–$325,000 per year in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, and $236,000–$296,000 per year in other U.S. states. Total compensation may also include equity rewards, monthly health, wellness, and technology stipends, and benefits.

Requirements

  • Approximately 8–10 or more years of product management experience.
  • A strong track record of shipping and scaling consumer-facing or platform products.
  • Previous end-to-end ownership of technical software products and the ability to articulate their business impact.
  • Direct experience leading zero-to-one or highly ambiguous product areas with meaningful outcomes.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, data, design, and other teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional work across multiple groups in complex environments.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools for prototyping, design, content, and analysis, and judgment to evaluate and refine their output.
  • Comfort working directly without dedicated design, analytics, or content partners.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to secure alignment and decisions from senior stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • Ability to influence engineering teams outside the reporting line and guide them toward building product needs.
  • High judgment in ambiguous settings and ability to turn incomplete or conflicting information into an actionable plan.
  • Strong commercial instincts and ability to contribute to pitches, negotiations, and contract evaluations when product work intersects with business strategy.
  • Bias toward action and ability to unblock teams and drive progress quickly.
  • Ability to move between strategy and execution, including long-term roadmap thinking, writing specifications, and examining edge cases.
  • Strong organizational discipline and interpersonal skills to navigate complex dynamics while maintaining momentum.
  • Strong ownership, high standards for quality, and ability to ship products on time.
  • Mission-driven and customer-focused, with motivation to build honest, transparent financial products.
